Tim Hughes and the Princeton team: Welcome to the Joint Public Safety Training Campus project!

March 30, 2021

Princeton Technical Services, an MBE contractor based in East Garfield Park, is joining the Joint Public Safety Training Campus project with responsibility over materials testing.

Tim Hughes founded Princeton in 2016 and today his firm includes 25 full time employees, 22 of whom are persons of color. Tim was born and raised in Chicago and has a deep commitment to the community.

Princeton will be responsible for material testing on the JPSTC site. That will include testing the soil, asphalt, concrete and steel materials for flaws or abnormalities. It’s a precision skill that is vitally important to the overall stability of the building on the campus.

“The Joint Public Safety Training Campus project is critically important to the future of Chicago,” said Hughes. “We’re pleased to be joining this project and applying our material testing expertise to ensure overall success of the project.”

Prior to founding Princeton, Tim managed a $1 billion real estate portfolio and more than 100 staff members for Exelon/Commonwealth Edison. Earlier, he worked for Hewitt, Ernst & Young, and Cap Gemini consulting firms, where he consulted with mid- to large-cap corporate clients on complex project and program management assignments.
